A year ago I came back to JWD. The 2 years before that. when covid stated, I was diagnosed with colon cancer. I was one of the last surgeries done before they closed the surgery departments down due to covid.

In 2021, I went into the hospital alone. No one was allowed to enter the hospital to visit me. I went through the surgery and had a few problems and they kept me for a week before sending me home.

In 2022, they found a small tumor in my upper-right lung. I was terrified. In the days of covid, the last thing I need was just a cold. I certainly did not need covid messing up my lungs. I went into surgery and had my upper right lung and a bit of the middle right removed. Again I had to do this alone. No visitors.

A couple of weeks after I got home I was having problems breathing and rushed to the ER. They did a CT scan to make sure I didn't have a blood clot. No clot. The next morning a doctor asked me what they were going to do about the tumor in my lower left lung.

Say what? Another one. No one knew. Although it had shown up on a previous scan the pathologist failed to put it in the report. So my oncologist, who relied on the report had no idea there was a second tumor. She recommended talking to a surgeon (to have another lobe removed. And talk to an radiation oncologist. So I spoke with both and opted for the radiation. Having another lobe removed would have seriously hampered my breathing.

So back to the hospital for 5 treatments - alone. At least this was out-patient.

I recently got the news that after one year of testing I officially am NED (No Evidence of Disease)!!!

I have been terrified of getting covid. Several people in my building have had it. I have been pretty much in seclusion from my diagnosis throughout all of the last three years. Two weeks after the radiation I wound up with pneumonia. Hadn't thought about the danger of that one.

My breathing may never get back to what it was. But I can go up and down a couple of flights of stairs without too much trouble.

We take so much for granted. I had NO SYMPTOMS for any of this. NONE. They found it through a FIT test. And then a colonoscopy conformed it.

The age of people getting colon cancer is dropping. it isn't just an old person's disease anymore. People in their 40s and even younger are getting colon cancer.

Get tested. If I had not been tested the cancer may not have been found until it was too late to help me.

today, i received a call from my oncologist nurse.

she informed me that i will need to sign a consent form for a blood transfusion.

the doctor will see me next wednesday to go through the consent form with me.

BTW. I just was told that I am clear of stage 4 colon cancer that had spread to my lungs.

One year with no evidence of disease.

When I was in university I took an Ethics course. One chapter in the textbook addressed Jehovah's Witnesses and the Blood Issue. I chose that to write my paper. At the time I was POMI.

I went to McGill University's Medical Library which is huge. I looked up every article I could find that supported the JW belief in blood transfusions. There were a lot of them. And I got an A++ on the paper. My professor wanted me to get it published. I couldn't do it even though getting it published in a major medical journal would have been a real coup.

It took me a few years and getting to POMO before I realized the problem with the paper.

It was severely biased, one sided. No journal would have accepted it despite the mark I got from the professor.

Good research requires that you look at BOTH sides of the issue. And I really didn't do that.

So, why am I telling you this?

Because the mountain of evidence that the WTS is wrong about the dangers of blood transfusions is completely false.

Things happen which is why they ask you to sign a release. The Dr. will give you all the information you need and answer all your questions. Honestly.

You can ask for no family to visit. That way they won't know what you are getting. Or depending on your relationship don't tell them anything. Just go get it done.

But don't risk your life for a bunch of half-truths and out-right lies.

Dangerous? Maybe. But so is crossing the street in some places. The medical profession does its very best to minimize the dangers.

Save a life. Yours!

UK Hospital using Kingdom Melodies - complaint

i found out that a uk hospital (nnuh) uses kingdom melodies as hold music, apparently for some years!

i called and heard it myself.

i wrote an email to the complaints team and await a response.

It is simple. The hospital has one agenda here. Protect themselves. If they did not have permission from the WTS to use the songs they can and would be sued. They will take them down ASAP.

Trauma to ex-JWs. They don't get it.

Coercion re the blood issue: They won't get it.

They rest: They don't get it.

But money talks. And in this case, I suspect, very LOUDLY.

July 2023 Study Watchtower - Great Tribulation is coming soooooooooooooon!

is this the "great tribulation" which jesus warned he would bring upon the corrupt christian congregations worldwide, (revelation 2:22; 7:14) or is it the same 1st century g.t.

which he said would never occur again?

The Great Tribulation is coming.... soon. AGAIN.

In the 70s we were told to go to our book study location. There we would get all the information we needed to go hide "in the mountain caves" Well they got rid of the book study arrangement a long time ago.

I got pregnant at the end of 71. The baby was due in May 72. When I told my mother, she yelled at me that this was no time to have babies. Now I would have a baby to drag with me when we had to escape in 1975. The baby would NEVER go to school in this system of things.

Yup. She went to school, grew up, got married, had 3 kids. They went to school and one is now married with 2 kids. The other are working and in college.

I would have missed out on being a mother, grandmother and now great grandmother if I had listened.

I also would have missed out on a college and university education and a career that I loved.

I would have missed out on meeting so many of you either online or in real life.

For those still in:

DON'T LISTEN TO THEM. THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT AND WHEN ONE THING FAILS THEY JUST KEEP DELETING THE PAST AND STARTING OVER AGAIN. There is a reason they want all the old publications disposed of. They show the errors of the past just keep happening over and over and over again.

some people had a penchant for posting their topics directly into the "best of topics" area.

it seemed more than a little arrogant to me that some imagined their every utterance was immediately a greatest hit but maybe people weren't clear on what that area was intended for .... from now on you won't be able to start new topics there.

if anyone wants to submit a topic to be added there (perhaps an index to a curated list of other topics by a user or on a certain subject / theme) then just start one in "suggestions" and pm me and, if it is suitable, then i'll move it into there.. existing topics posted there recently have been moved to more appropriate areas..

Submission and stupid rules

what a load of crap this stupid belief was.

i'll give you a couple of examples.

i was the sign language interpreter for our congregation and there was about 15-20 deaf who regularly showed up.

LongHairGal: I guess that explains why in certain countries around the world, women are made to cover up from head to toe! Even their hair, face and ankles can’t show.

The problem with that is that it actually makes many men even more prone to sexual thoughts. Ask a man who goes to nude beaches how fast the novelty wears off. After a while you don't notice it anymore.

But it isn't the hormones that drive a man's libido as much as his brain. What he thinks is a much greater trigger for him. Showing it all, pretty much takes away the mystery. Cover it all up and all they think about is what is under all those clothes.

Vidot: We manage. Takes years of practice and self-discipline, though.

And some never manage it. All we need is a few pills and problems are solved. You poor guys.
